Company profile

Founded in 1975, Indesit Company is the second largest European white goods manufacturer in terms of market share and the fifth in the world, producing nearly 15 million appliances a year. Indesit, Hotpoint-Ariston and Scholtès are the Group’s main brands. The Company operates through 17,000 employees, 17 production facilities and 24 commercial offices in Italy and abroad. Listed on Borsa Italiana (the Italian stock exchange) since 1987, the Group posted sales of over €3.4 billion in 2007*. Indesit Company produces cookers, hobs, ovens, fridges, freezers, washing machines, washer-dryers, dryers and dishwashers.

The Group's production plants are located in Italy, Poland, Russia, the UK, Turkey and China. In recent years the Company has increased its market share in Greater Europe thanks to major production investments. Two new plants have already been opened, in Lodz (Poland) and Lipetzk (Russia), and another two are to be built in Poland (Radomsko) to make dishwashers and washing machines, coming into service in 2008. This is an important achievement in the process of re-balancing capacity between Western and Eastern Europe. Indesit Company began an industrial development process in China, signing a joint venture with Wuxi Little Swan in 2005. Indesit Company SpA is headquartered in Fabriano, Italy. The Company’s management is headed by Vittorio Merloni (chairman and founder) and Marco Milani (CEO).

The figures of the separated financial statements of Indesit Company S.p.A, which proposal was approved by the BoD held on March 20, 2008, were approved by the Annual General Meeting, held on April 30, 2008 ( 2nd call).
