Sodalitas Social Award 2008
Indesit Company won an award at the 6th “Sodalitas Social Awards”, promoted by Sodalitas and recognized by the President of the Republic. The awards go to enterprises, employer associations and industrial districts actively engaged in social initiatives through the development of ethical conduct and the day-to-day application of their declared values.
Indesit Company was given its award in the “human capital development programme” category for its implementation of the most significant and socially effective project: the International Framework Agreement with the trade unions, and within it, the Refrontolo Agreement, which saw the involvement of the company, trade unions and local authorities.

Academy of Management & Institute of New Technologies
Indesit Company was judged as the company most sensitive to equal opportunities issues within the framework of "Knowledge, motivation, work – women and careers in the city of Lodz", a programme co-funded by the European Union and the European Social Fund to boost women's employment levels in the region, support equal opportunities and combat the social and professional exclusion of women from the labour market. Indesit was given a special mention for its active and innovative role in the project, involving 80 unemployed women who took part in seminars, training courses, workshops, work groups and counselling in the various professional sectors – all aimed at helping them find jobs. In this way, over 1,000 women were able to access useful information.

EiD award
The innovative design of the Indesit Moon continues to reap awards throughout the world. Appliance Design, an American electronics and technology journal addressing industrial designers, gave it a gold Excellence in Design Award for bold and innovative design and the capacity to offer intelligent solutions for the home.

Good Design
The Chicago Athenaeum - Museum of Architecture and Design has given Moon the 2007 Good Design Award in the “Bathroom” category, hailing it as a new concept, high-performance washing machine with a strong personality and a striking and innovative design suiting it to any part of the home, an object of furnishing in its own right.
Set up in 1950, the Good Design Awards, focusing on the avant-garde in industrial design, are organized by the Chicago Athenaeum – Museum of Architecture and Design, one of Chicago’s most prestigious cultural institutions and the only museum of architecture and design in the United States, in collaboration with the European Centre for Architecture, Art, Design and Urban Studies (Dublin and Athens) and the Metropolitan Arts Press.

European Excellence Award
Indesit Company’s innovative intranet – Insight – won an award for the Company at the 2008 European Excellence Awards,
a prestigious international event promoted by “Communication Director”, a trade magazine. In the Ritz-Carlton in Berlin,
an international panel of experts in the field of communication judged Insight the best Intranet in the Corporate Media
category.

Keynes-Sraffa Award
Indesit Company chairman Vittorio Merloni has won the Keynes-Sraffa Award, which is granted every two
years by the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry to an Italian who has made an outstanding contribution
to industrial and business relations between the two countries. Vittorio Merloni’s award was in recognition of
Indesit Company’s role in boosting reciprocal investments between Italy and the UK.

“Golden Villa” (Złota Villa) Award
The Moon washing machine was awarded the Polish “Zlota Villa”, conferred by the country’s prestigious “Villa”
design magazine. Indesit received the main prize in the Large White Goods category. The Moon was acclaimed for
its innovative design, clean crisp lines, futuristic control panel and the outstanding blue door placed in a
metallic body, as well as for its revolutionary technology and high performance washing. The “Zlota Villa”
(Golden Villa) is a well-known annual award for outstanding household products launched on the Polish market.

Special Mention 2007 Ecohitech Awards
The innovative content and eco-sustainability of the new Hotpoint-Ariston dishwasher (triple A class),
reduction of cardboard used in packaging and workplace health and safety management at the Manisa plant in
Turkey were the three aspects that earned Indesit a special mention at the Ecohitech Awards, in the
environmentally friendly products category. The Awards, at their 9th edition this year, are organized by
Consorzio Ecoqual’It in collaboration with WWF Italia, within the framework of an agreement with Regione
Lombardia (regional administration) and the Milan Chamber of Commerce, and address companies in electronics
and hi-tech industries which achieve outstanding results in terms of eco-compatibility, energy efficiency
and waste management.

Design Awards 2007
The Moon washing machine was judged “Kitchen Product of the Year” at the 2007 Designer Awards - a prestigious
accolade conferred annually by Designer, the UK’s top magazine for architects, developers and designers.
The coveted award has been assigned by a panel of experts that chose Moon as product of the year: a real innovation

Indesit Company has won an award at the first Intellectual Capital Value Awards for the development of human capital,
an initiative that assesses companies’ commitment to developing their human resources, their motivation, skills and

Janus de l’Industrie
For the second year running Indesit Company has won the Janus de l’Industrie, the prestigious Institut
Français du Design award for companies that achieve outstanding creative results in the field of industrial
design. Meeting in the splendid setting of the Palais du Luxembourg, seat of the Senate in Paris, a panel of
50 experts from the design, innovation and advertising sectors awarded the Janus to the Moon washing machine
for its simplicity of design and its offering of solutions that combine innovation and immediacy.

Best Technology Award 2007
Indesit Company has won for the second year running a “Best Technology Award” at the Grand Designs Live in London.
Hotpoint-Ariston’s new 48 cm oven, designed by Makio Hasuike, received a Grand Designs Magazine award in the
“Technology for the home” category in recognition of its new technology for domestic applications.
The prestigious awards, set up in 2005, are given to products with outstanding technology and innovation during the
Grand Designs Live in London, the most important design and innovation expo for operators in the world of
home furnishing.

Grand Clio Awards
For the first time an Italian commercial has won the prestigious Grand Clio Awards:
the coveted awards went to “Mondo Sommerso”, the TV commercial for Indesit Company’s Aqualtis
washing machine. In addition to the Grand Clio in the Television category, the Aqualtis film,
made for Indesit Company by Leo Burnett Italia, won a Silver Clio in the Animation category and a
Bronze Clio in the Visual Effects category.

Grand Prix de l’Innovation
Indesit Company has won the 4th Grand Prix de l’Innovation (2007). The award for best design went to the Moon washing machine designed by Giugiaro.
Set up by the “Institut du Design” in France in 2000, the prestigious awards take place every two years at the Paris Trade Fair and single out products in three categories - Design, Innovation and Technology.

Best of Trust Brand - Russia
The award ceremony for the Narodnaya Marka, which ranks the best loved brands in Russia, was held in the prestigious venue of the Kremlin.
Over 300,000 Russian consumers chose Indesit Company brands (Indesit, Ariston and Stinol) as the best overall. For the third time since the awards were started, Indesit was judged best brand in the “washing machine” and “fridge” categories, while Stinol was second in “fridge” and Ariston third in the “washing machine” categories.

Five stars for Aqualtis
The Aqualtis is the first washing machine to have passed the Australian Standard Tests and earned
five stars in the Water Rating category. Aqualtis brilliantly came through the tests in the Vipac
Engineers and Scientists laboratories in Melbourne, an N.A.T.A. (National Association of Testing
Authorities, Australia) certification body, thus proving itself the washing most sensitive to water
resource needs, a theme.

Gold Lion Cannes 2006
For the first time in 12 years, the Golden Lion has been won by an Italian company. At the 53rd Cannes
International Advertising Festival, Indesit Company was awarded a Golden Lion for the TV ad of its Ariston

Plus X Award "Easy of Use" and "Ecology"
Indesit Company took part in the Plus X Awards and won a prize in the innovation category.
The product singled out was the new "drawer" fridge. Following the Home Innovation Award 2005 for the Touch
