Indesit Company’s intranet is the no. 1 in Europe
“Insight” wins a “European Excellence Award” in Berlin
Fabriano, 17th December 2007 – Indesit Company’s innovative intranet – Insight – won an award for the Company at the 2008 European Excellence Awards, a prestigious international event promoted by “Communication Director”, a trade magazine. In the Ritz-Carlton in Berlin, an international panel of experts in the field of communication judged Insight the best Intranet in the Corporate Media category.
In its first year, the European Excellence Awards looked at over 600 candidates from the communication market in a spectrum embracing internal communication, financial communication and corporate social responsibility communication, the aim being to consolidate and publicize quality communication by successful companies in Europe and beyond. Indesit Company was the only Italian company to receive an award. Other winners this year included multinationals like Coca Cola, Deutsche Telecom, UPM, Mastercard and Samsung Electronics.
What is Insight?
Insight started out in 2005 to help engage employees in Company life and make them feel part of “one single company” and also to find ways of communicating Indesit Company’s values – innovative, respectful, ambitious, in touch and genuine. In just two years it has become the Company’s main in-house communication tool, alongside customary instruments such as the house organ, events, newsletters, ad campaigns and special projects.
Insight is a single worldwide intranet for Indesit Company people worldwide and is translated into three main languages (Italian, English and Russian). It has six main news areas and weekly programming including news, home videos, company made sitcoms, organization and general news announcements, and even fitness exercises. It has also turned out to be an innovative tool for use with multimedia systems, making it possible to see TV commercial previews, product launches, presentations of international awards, CSR activities, team building and training, sponsorships, participation in events, etc. Insight is also a working instrument, with sites covering all areas of corporate activity. Under this technological umbrella, some 5,000 intranet users can draw on various information and tools, such as the various corporate applications software packages.
